Machining in Clifton Park since 1983

AMT was incorporated in 1983 by friends turned partners Steve Petronis and Dick Carusone, and saw early what Wire EDM could do.

From manual machines to Wire EDM

They filled a small shop with manual lathes, mills and grinders, then bought into the new Wire EDM technology. One machine became two, and in 1988 AMT moved into a purpose built 10,000 sq ft facility.

Early on CNC

In 1989 AMT bought one of the very first Haas VF-1 mills off the line in California. Today almost everything is made on more than 20 pieces of CNC equipment.

The next generation

Dick Carusone retired in 2005. Steve began handing the business to his son Mark in 2010, and Mark Petronis bought the company in 2013.

Our own products

AMT designed the Structural Stress Analyzer 1000, a tabletop tester for student-built bridges and towers. More than 3,000 have been sold.
